The Kenyan Ministry of Health will launch a nationwide polio vaccination campaign on November 5th in an attempt to curb the spread of the disease in the country, Kenya's Daily Nation reported Sunday (October 27th).

The ministry is aiming to vaccinate all children under the age of five during the five-day campaign, in addition to adults in certain parts of Garissa and Wajir counties.

Since May, when the first regional case of polio was reported in Somalia, Kenya has had 12 polio cases and one death as a result of the disease.
