Heavy rains have cut off transit to Qandala town in Puntland, UN-funded Radio Bar-Kulan reported Sunday (November 11th).
Trucks carrying goods for local traders are stranded outside the town, said area District Commissioner Jamaa Mohamoud Qurshe. The rains made the main road connecting the town to other parts of the region impassable, he said, adding that residents face a shortage of basic commodities.
Qurshe said authorities are working on finding alternate routes and devising solutions to address the flooding emergency.
