The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and Qatar Charity are partnering to help 1,100 internally displaced persons in southern Somalia return to their homes, Qatar Charity announced in a press release Monday (November 12th).
The UNHCR will fund the project with $930,000, while Qatar Charity will carry out the field work.
"This project is very important for improving the humanitarian situation in Somalia and will help greatly in stabilising the situation there," said Mohammed al-Ghamidi, director of international development at Qatar Charity. "Partnership with international organisations in such projects is crucial for its success."
