The Puntland regional administration began rehabilitation work on the road between Bosaso and Qardo on Sunday (October 21nd), UN-funded Radio Bar-Kulan reported.
Puntland Highway Authority Director Hassan Osman Ali said the construction project will help upgrade the road network, increase the speed of road travel, and prevent deaths and injuries from road accidents.
The highway authority has already completed several similar projects, including rehabilitation of the Garowe-Galkayo road and construction of a road between Jalam and Kala-bayr, Ali said. The government began repairing the Bosaso-Garowe highway in June.
