Representatives from Puntland and Galmudug met at a Galmudug police station Monday (August 27th) to improve security co-operation between the two regional administrations, Somalia's Garowe Online reported.

"Puntland and Galmudug met to discuss the future and move on from the past; we are determined to work together to establish security in the region," said Mudug Governor Mohamed Yusuf Jama.

The meeting was prompted by a car theft in north Galkayo, reported by Puntland police. Galmudug police recovered the vehicle and returned it to its owner.

"I want to thank the Puntland representatives who visited us and I also want to congratulate the Galmudug police for their tremendous work," said Galmudug Deputy Governor Aweys Ali Saeed. "I believe that if we work together we can drastically improve security in the region."
