Educational publisher Pearson has donated 150,000 textbooks, atlases and teachers' guides to Tanzanian primary schools, in co-operation with international charity Oxfam, Tanzania's Daily News reported Sunday (August 19th).

"Oxfam is delighted to be association with the donation as we feel that it complements very well our programme to strengthen the rights of girl students to education," said Director of Oxfam Tanzania Monica Gorman.

The materials will go to 258 primary schools in Tanzania's Arusha, Shinyanga and Dodoma regions. Gorman said the donation will make a significant difference in these regions, where procuring learning materials presents a constant challenge.
