Kenya's Ministry of Higher Education authorised on Friday (August 17th) five police training schools to award diplomas, Kenya's The Standard reported.
The expanded opportunities for police education in Kenya are part of the Police Reforms Implementation Committee's efforts to improve service to the public, and will be offered in Kiganjo, Embakasi, Utawala, Emali and Nairobi. Programmes will be open to current police officers and recruited civilian graduates.
Through an agreement with Kenyatta University, the Kenya Police College will offer education to allow officers to boost their academic qualifications, which they previously had to seek outside the force at their own cost.
The police committee also recently presented a new curriculum for police training that focuses on human rights, gender, communications and public relations, values and ethics, service and customer focus.

Ooh the Kenya Police! Whatever, this is a force Which is smeared with shame by chronic vice of corruption..It is Shame... Shame....Shame...A policeman is issued with blue uniform for easy identity to extort 50.00 bob. My traveling is a nauseous seeing the gang of police officers ahead on the road blocks exchanging corrupt hands with motorists. There is very thin line between these Police in our road blocks and the Somali Al Sabab. Operation Linda Nchi finish that assignment faster and get to operation Linda motorists from these Al Sabab on our road blocks to make our traffic civilized.
