Somalia's Transitional Federal Government (TFG) will establish a police force for Beledweyne, Somalia's Shabelle Media Network reported Monday (August 6th).
The government intends to deploy a force of well trained police to the centrally located city, according to Hiraan Governor Abdifatah Hassan Afrah.
Beledweyne has witnessed an increase in the number of violent acts during the past several months, with al-Shabaab carrying out suicide bombings, landmine explosions, and targeted assassinations.
TFG troops backed by Ethiopian forces captured Beledweyne from al-Shabaab in December 2011.
