The Galgudud regional government has vowed to clear al-Shabaab from the remaining areas under the militants' control, Galgadud Governor Ahmed Yusuf Hassan told UN-funded Radio Bar-Kulan on Tuesday (July 31st).
Hassan said al-Shabaab will soon be ousted, and local administrations will immediately be put in place to re-build security and order. He said national security institutions will follow, such as a police force, correctional institutions and a National Security Service.
Hassan called on local residents to co-operate with the administration to restore law and order.
Galgadud, which had been administered by the pro-government militia Ahlu Sunna wal Jamaa, came under the authority of the Transitional Federal Government this month.

Just today we are reading that Yusuf was HIMSELF REPLACED by Sheikh Hassan Yacub of Al Shabaab, the ones he vowed to rid. Who is telling the truth? Mind you KDF claimed to have killed the same Yacub and Abdikarim Adow in Kismayo earlier this month.
