Two Kenyan police officers were shot and seriously wounded in an attack blamed on al-Shabaab gunmen in Mandera on Thursday (July 12th), Kenya's Capital FM reported.
The officers were travelling back to Garissa through the Arabia area, near the Somali border, when armed gunmen began shooting at them.
"The gunmen were in groups and they sprayed bullets at us and we also engaged them," said area Deputy Police Chief John Mbaluka.
