Kenya's Anti-Terrorism Police Unit asked a court on Tuesday (July 10th) to deny bail for two terrorism suspects charged with intention to cause grievous harm, Kenya's The Standard reported.

Police said they had recovered 15 kilograms of explosive material with intelligence from the two suspects, Iranian nationals Ahmed Abolfathi Mohammad and Sayed Mansour Mousavi. Police were informed that more than 100 kilograms of explosives entered Kenya, most of which has not yet been recovered, an affidavit from the Anti-Terrorism Police Unit said.

Sergeant Eric Opagal warned that freeing the suspects on bail would put the country at risk. "Police have information that the suspects have a vast network in the country meant to execute attacks," he said.

The court will rule on their application for bail on July 16th.
