Somali Prime Minister Abdiweli Mohamed Ali met with his Ugandan counterpart Amama Mbabazi while on a state visit to Kampala on Thursday (June 28th), Uganda's New Vision reported.
The two heads of government discussed regional security issues, particularly the ongoing campaign against al-Shabaab in Somalia. Ali will also meet with Ugandan President Yuweri Museveni and visit the families of Ugandan soldiers serving in the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM).
This is Ali's his first state visit since his appointment as prime minister last year.
Ugandan troops have been fighting in Somalia under AMISOM since 2007.
