The Somali Armed Forces will expand security operations against the al-Shabaab movement throughout the country, Minister of Defence Hussein Arab Isse said Monday (June 25th).
Accompanied by commander of the Somali Armed Forces Abdulqadir Sheikh Ali Dini, Isse surveyed military camps in Mogadishu on Sunday and received briefings on the training conditions, the Somali National News Agency reported. The minister said he was pleased to see Somali soldiers ready to defend their country and able to be trained domestically.
Isse congratulated Somali soldiers and African Union troops for the progress achieved so far, and reiterated the government's commitment to eradicate al-Shabaab from southern and central Somalia to restore order and peace in the country, according to Somalia's Shabelle Media Network.

The Al shabab are on the verge of defeat and their destruction will bring hope to Somalia. For decades now the country has been struggling with poverty and civil war and ii times they raise from all that. So how will the defeat of Al shabab really help in building Somalia? We all know that investors either local or foreign are responsible for contributing to development in a country. With the treat of Al shabab gone many investors will have confidence to invest their money in the country. The destruction of Al shabab will also allow the local engage in activities that will earn them money and improve the economy. All those refugees who had fled because of war will come back and join the rest in rebuilding their nation. When the threat that is Al shabab has been removed donors will be confident and they will support Somali grow in terms of infrastructure and improved standards of living. People will have more faith and will work towards a common goal which is building Somalia.
