Authorities in Afgoye said a curfew imposed on residents since the town was liberated last month has been successful, state-run Radio Mogadishu reported Sunday (June 24th).

Afgoye police chief Ibrahim Dini Isaaq said the situation in the town has improved significantly thanks to the curfew, which had been initially proposed by town elders. The nighttime curfew is effective daily from 6:15 pm to 5:15 am.

Isaaq told Radio Mogadishu that security forces have expanded their operations outside Afgoye, which contributed to the security improvement in the area.
