The Somali Transitional Federal Government and allied forces plan to eliminate al-Shabaab before the deadline to end the transitional period in August, Somali Prime Minister Abdiweli Mohamed Ali said.
"Somali government troops, with the help of African Union peacekeepers, are committed to finish the reign of al-Shabaab control in Somalia," Ali said, Somalia's Shabelle Media Network reported on Monday (June 11th). "Al-Shabaab lost most of its territory during the 18-month offensives involving African Union forces, the Somali government, Ethiopia and Kenya."
Somali and allied forces have secured key regions in the south and central parts of Somalia, and are pushing to drive al-Shabaab from their remaining strongholds, Ali said.

May God curse all terrorists who are trying to carry out malicious terrorist attacks, aiming at seeding rift and spreading violence and criminality; along with fueling conflicts, they have caused the death of many innocent people by conducting bombings and trapping, assassinations, kidnappings and slaughtering, theft and torture and continuous, multiple and successive violations against innocent citizens. These elements are just terrorist groups, which strive to accumulate wealth while tampering with the nation's security and stability. Their goal is to turn Somalia into a chaotic and restless nation, deprived of peace, tranquility and calmness. Hence, May God curse everyone who caused harm, damage, terror and evilness to the people. We ask God to save everyone from their evilness and harmfulness, and to restore the country’s security. We ask God to bring relieve to all countries that are suffering from the same problem. Everyone is now feeling the pressure of violence and terrorism caused by these criminal elements and gangs. They are trying to forcefully take control over the people. They are taking advantage of the country’s dire situation, to root their presence among people and then, terrorize and intimidate them. They want to implant strife, sectarianism, hatred, animosity and infighting among people, so that chaos may spread everywhere.
Somali has one of the most dangerous terrorist groups in Africa, the Al shabab and it’s causing terrible crimes to humanity and destruction of properties. The first crime the group is involved in is the recruiting of children as soldiers. They are kidnapping small children and using them as soldiers saying that children are expendable. The Al shabab is also involved in killing where they are killing innocent civilians in their fight against the federal government of Somalia. The Al shabab is also involved in criminal activities in the neighboring countries like Kenya and Ethiopia. These crimes are bad fir the people of Somalia and the continent of Africa at large because it is keeping those foreign investors at bay and adversely affecting the economy of the continent.
