Somali President Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed met with tribal leaders on Wednesday (June 6th) to discuss choosing the delegates who will approve the draft constitution.
The president and Deputy Trade Minister Abdiwahab Ugas Hussein met with the tribal elders at the Mogadishu airport on the elders' request, the Somali National News Agency reported.
Ahmed called on the elders to convene their newly established committee and select educated delegates for the National Constituent Assembly to vote on the draft constitution. Their selections are due by June 20th.
