The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) distributed food aid on Wednesday (May 30th) to an estimated 7,000 people in Mataban district and areas surrounding the Hiiraan region, UN-funded Radio Bar-Kulan reported.
Donations consisted of basic commodities, including rice, porridge, beans, and cooking oil, said Ahlu Sunna wal-Jamaa Deputy Commissioner in Mataban district Mo'allin Liban Ali Dirie.
Dirie thanked the ICRC for the donations and said that this is the second time in two months that the humanitarian organisation has distributed food aid to residents of Mataban and its surroundings.
