Kenya's President Mwai Kibaki said on Monday (May 28th) that Kenya will remain "one national entity", adding that there is no room for any part of Kenya to secede.
"Our constitution clearly states that Kenya is one unitary state," Kibaki said at the opening of a new library at Adventist University of Africa near Nairobi, according to Africa Review. "We must therefore say 'no' to those persons who seek to divide our country into tribal and regional bastions."
Kibaki's directed his comments at the outlawed Mombasa Republican Council, which operates in Coast Province and has been campaigning to secede from mainland Kenya, the paper reported.
Kibaki said that the new constitution offers Kenyans the opportunity to elect local government leaders. "Those who feel that they have something to offer the people should be focusing on these devolved units of government," Kibaki said.

Okay man......MRC is threatening!
I like this. What the Hon. President has said is true and to the point. Let those who have ears hear and those who have eyes see. We cannot continue living in fear because of al shabaab threats and killings, fear of tribal clashes and now fear of another problem of secsion in our own country. HON. PRESIDENT KEEP IT UP, WE SUPPORT YOU FULLY. The only thing that i would like to add here is that, let our armed forces not relax at all on this matter, because there is one thing, most of the MRC groups are those who have been trained by Al Shabaab on how to use fire arms and other military gadgets. There are many of the MRC group members who are already targeting certain tribes in Kenya and moreso the Kikuyus whom they believe have "snatched" thier pieces of land from them. Please Mr. President use whatever means it takes to control this situation as we ar not ready for another kaya bombo or the clashes that rocked the rift valley region. WE WANT PEACE ALL OVER KENYA. GOD BLESS KENYA. AM A PROUD KENYAN.
