Djibouti Telecom in co-operation with two Djiboutian ministries launched a training programme for women on Monday (May 7th) in information and communications technology, Djibouti's official La Nation reported.
During the two-week training programme, about 30 young women in Balbala will receive instruction from Djibouti Telecom's experts on how to use computers, access the Internet and spot cyber-crime to better prepare them for the job market.
The Ministry of Communication and Culture and the Ministry for the Promotion of Women, Family Welfare and Social Affairs are partnering in the training programme. Secretary-General Halo Aboubaker of the women's ministry praised the training for its utility and significance, as it fits into the government's goals of advancing the status of women.
