Somali Minister of Defence Hussein Arab Isse said on Tuesday (May 8th) that the Transitional Federal Government (TFG) will soon eradicate al-Shabaab from the country.

Isse said the TFG's goal was to restore peace in the region and eliminating al-Shabaab from central and southern Somalia is a crucial first step towards achieving that goal.

"Although they have left Mogadishu, it does not mean we can snooze," he said, according to Somalia's Shabelle Media Network. "Our troops will continue to fight al-Shabaab."

Isse said al-Shabaab's tactics had shifted towards targeting civilians since the TFG assumed control of Mogadishu last year, and urged Somalis to co-operate with TFG forces to prevent further attacks.

The Al shabaab is a very notorious group operating in Somalia and since it began it has left a trail of death and destruction everywhere it goes. Their actions are being criticized by the entire world and many people believe they should be stopped at all cost. They are going against human rights by kidnaping children below 18years and recruiting them to become soldiers to fight for a cause they do not even know. They are killing innocent civilian in Somalia and in the neighboring countries. They are also attacking humanitarian conveys and preventing them from accessing the most hit parts by famine and diseases. Due to their actions more and more innocent Somalia will continue dying every day if they do not get stopped. The terrorist group is the cause that the rate of development in the country is so low because people live in fear and due to the constant attacks nothing can be really developed.
