The Kenyan government announced on Thursday (May 3rd) a partnership with LG Electronics, Intel and Microsoft to digitise secondary school curriculum around the country.

Beginning next month, students will be able to access school materials in digital form using their computers and mobile phones, enhancing the way teaching and learning is conducted, Kenya's Daily Nation reported.

Books and syllabi are among the content to be digitised, and teachers will receive training in using the new platforms.

"E-learning content facilitates the learners and the teachers to internalise concepts and enhance [the] level of understanding of competencies for the benefit of the students," said Lydia Nzomo, the director of the official Kenya Institute of Education.

LG, Intel and Microsoft will donate computers to Kenyan schools to ensure they have access to the digital format.
