At least two people died in clashes Saturday night (April 28th) between Somali government forces and al-Shabaab militants in the outskirts of Mogadishu, Somalia's Shabelle Media Network reported.
The confrontations began when al-Shabaab attacked government military bases in the Hosh and Asbluta villages south of Mogadishu, according to Somali Transitional Federal Government Commander Abdullah Osman.
Somali government and African Union forces repelled the militants and foiled their attempt to disrupt peace in the area, Darkenley District Commissioner Moalim Abdulle told UN-funded Radio Bar-Kulan.
