At least one person was killed and 11 were injured Thursday (April 19th) after a mortar hit a neighbourhood in Wadajir district in Mogadishu, UN-funded Radio Bar-Kulan reported.
Wadajir District Commissioner Ahmed Hassan Adow blamed al-Shabaab for the attack, saying the al-Qaeda-allied group is seeking to undermine the wellbeing of the Somali people.
The mortar struck a compound in the Obasibo neighbourhood, where women and children were among the wounded. The victims were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment.

As an Arab citizen who loves Somalia and the Somalis, I ask God to protect Somalia and its people against all evils and dangers that might hurt them. Somalia has been through very tough times. So, I supplicate to the Almighty God to keep Somalia from those who sabotage it and want to harm its people, those who want to destroy every beautiful thing in Somalia. But by the grace of God, Somalia will remain steadfast and proud.
