The death toll following a grenade attack in Nairobi's Machakos bus station on Saturday has risen to nine after three more Kenyans died of their injuries, Kenya's Red Cross announced on Tuesday (March 13th).
"These are some of the people who sustained very serious injuries after the grenade attack," said Kenya Red Cross spokesman Frederic Gori. At least 40 injured victims are still being treated in the Kenyatta National Hospital.
Four suspects, including three minors, were arrested Sunday in connection with the bombings and later released, after being questioned a second time by anti-terrorism police on Tuesday, AFP reported. It is not yet clear whether charges will be filed against them.
