President of Somalia's Puntland region Abdirahman Mohamed Faroole has called on Somalis at home and abroad to unite and invest in the country's future, Somalia's Garowe Online reported on Saturday (February 25th).
Faroole spoke to a gathering of Somali expatriates following the conclusion of the London conference on Friday, calling for continued support from the Somali diaspora.
"The Somali leaders who have attended this meeting verify that we as leaders are ready for a unified Somalia. But we as leaders cannot unify the country if it does not come from the people," Faroole said.
London's Somali community convened the gathering, where Somali officials, including Transitional Federal Government President Sharif Sheikh Ahmed and Banadir region Governor Mohamud Ahmed Nur, addressed the majority-Somali audience.
