A missile strike killed at least four al-Qaeda-affiliated al-Shabaab fighters in Lower Shabelle on Friday (February 24th), AFP reported.
Officials and witnesses told AFP the attack occurred as the fighters travelled in a vehicle in the K60 area located between Afgoye and Shalanbod.
"The missile targeted a vehicle belonging to al-Shabaab," Mohamed Ali, a resident of a nearby village, told AFP. "We are not sure who exactly was the target but four people apparently died and the vehicle was destroyed."
Somalia's Shabelle Media Network said the attack killed a top al-Shabaab commander and other foreign fighters whose names have not been released to the media.
